I was raised by an early childhood educator and haven't been able to shake her influence since! While a PhD student at McGill University (in Montréal, Canada), I volunteered for the Homework Zone program, mentoring upper elementary students after school.
As an Education & Inspiration Team intern in summer 2018, I created a preschool music-and-movement program for the Delaware Historical Society that incorporated jazz, gospel music, Puerto Rican music, and other genres in order to teach youngsters the basics of musical expression in developmentally-appropriate language (see photos above and below).
In my current role as Archivist, I spearheaded an educational programming series for museum guides and other Historic Site staff to learn more about our collections, history, and historical methodologies in an approachable and engaging way.

I've also taught undergraduate and graduate students in classrooms as a musicology Teaching Assistant and one-on-one as a Writing Tutor at the University of Iowa Writing Center. While at McGill University, I graded exams and essays in French and English, and I presented research about my tutoring for the Midwest Writing Centers Association and in an MWCA spotlight post.
As the Graduate Assistant for the University of Delaware Museum Studies & Public Engagement department, I put together the MuseWeekly job listserv and put my archival training to good use by contributing to the 2022 C-AID project planning.

About the Photo
In Summer 2018, I created a music and movement program for preschoolers at the Delaware Historical Society. In this photo, taken by Megan Hutchins, the preschoolers and I are doing "call and response" clapping.
