Before embarking on a PhD in history, I obtained a Master's degree in Library and Information Science, gaining valuable experience in archival practices as a processor for the University of Iowa Special Collections and the Iowa Women's Archives. I processed manuscripts and artifacts for an addendum to the Nicholas Meyer Papers; created an organizational scheme for the National Association of Fan Clubs Materials; and processed a variety of documents, books, and artifacts (below left) for the Camp Fire Iowana-Camp Hitaga Records.
My final poster utilized Digital Humanities methods and tools to map and analyze music concerts in Great Depression-era libraries.

Library and Museum work are closely connected, even while they are distinct in their aims and practices. While processing the Camp Fire Iowana-Camp Hitaga Records for the Iowa Women's Archives (Summer 2017, see above left), I worked with the University of Iowa's conservation lab to properly store a variety of artifacts.
During the 2018–2019 school year, I combined museum and library-special collections work by creating and launching a multi-year organization-preservation plan for the Nemours Estate book collection, featuring the uncataloged personal library of Alfred I. duPont and his wives Alicia Bradford duPont and Jessie Ball duPont (see above right).
I have since built on that work, serving as the solo archivist for Nemours Estate, managing the papers and books of Alfred I. duPont and his family, business partners, and legacy in the Nemours healthcare system. Since March 2022, I have overseen and organized the move of 1,000 linear feet of books, manuscripts, photographs, film, and architectural drawings; created collections management and access policies; established new processing, book cataloging, and metadata workflows; overseen volunteers, casual staff, and interns; and implemented Nemours Special Collections' ArchivesSpace database from scratch.
